I'm Anh from Vietnam, and I'm interested in learning about cosmetic services in Seoul, but I'm a little worried about communication. I know basic English, but I'm not sure if it's enough to have a detailed conversation about what I want with the doctor and consultant. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm considering whether I should hire an interpreter or if English is sufficient. I've seen many places online that say clinics in tourist areas often have English-speaking staff, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. Anyone with experience in Seoul, please share your advice! I really want to be well-prepared to avoid misunderstandings.

Hey, I'm thinking about this too! I've seen many women from Vietnam who have gone there, and they speak basic English, but it's a good idea to prepare some medical vocabulary or write it down on paper before going for a consultation to avoid misunderstandings. Some places have translators or staff who speak English, but not all of them, so it's best to call/email to confirm beforehand!
Hi Anh! I was worried about this too when I first came to Seoul. In my experience, just bring reference photos or images from the internet to your consultation—they're much more helpful than just using words, hehe. For detailed communication, it might be worth paying for a translator if you really want to be sure, but many of the staff can speak basic English, so give it a try!
After reading Anh's post, I felt the same way. I was thinking the same thing. Someone told me that some nurses and doctors speak English reasonably well, but it's not certain if that's enough for complex questions. Thank you for asking, because I was also wondering if I should consider hiring a translator.
Hey guys, I'm also from Vietnam and considering the same thing! I feel my basic English isn't very confident with technical jargon, so I'm wondering if I should hire an interpreter. Hopefully, those with experience will share more so we can prepare better.
