Hi, this is Honoka. I'm planning to go to Seoul next month for a consultation about cosmetic treatments, but I'm a little worried about the language barrier...😅
I'm not very good at English, so I'm wondering if I should look for a clinic that offers services in Japanese? A friend who went to Seoul before said that "big clinics often have Japanese-speaking staff," but I'm not sure if that's actually true. Would a translation app be enough?
Also, I think I could understand the consultation itself in English, but I'd feel more comfortable explaining my skin condition and specific requests in Japanese... What do you all do? If anyone else has had similar worries about the language barrier, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

I had the same concerns when I went to Seoul! Actually, I found that using a translation app (like Google Translate) along with basic English communication, most clinics could understand what I was trying to say, especially regarding skin conditions. But you're right, it would be more reassuring to find a clinic with Japanese-speaking staff; large clinics usually do have them 😊
I totally understand your worry, Honoka! 😅 I was also worried about the language barrier during my aesthetic consultation in Seoul. Honestly, translation apps can help with basic stuff, but for details about our skin condition and expectations, it's more comfortable to have staff who speak our language. Hopefully, you can find a place that has Japanese speakers — I hope your consultation goes smoothly!
