Hi everyone, I'm Qing. I'm considering getting a minor cosmetic procedure done in Seoul, but my English isn't very good, let alone Korean. I'd like to ask you experienced ladies: is it absolutely necessary to speak English during the consultation? Or are there Chinese translators or staff who can help?
I've seen several clinics' websites have Chinese descriptions, but I'm unsure about the actual consultation process. Will there be communication problems? Or will I have to pay for a translator myself? Has anyone had experience with this and could share their experience?
I feel like many people from China are concerned about this, so I want to find out more before I go. Thank you!

I completely understand how you feel, Chin! I was worried about the same thing. When you actually go for a consultation, it seems that if you let them know in advance by email or phone that you are a Japanese speaker, the staff will often consider how to help you. Some clinics have Chinese interpreters, so I think the most reliable thing to do is to ask about language support when you first inquire. Good luck!
Hi Chin! I was also worried about the language barrier when I was going for a consultation in Seoul. I want to ask, did you end up contacting the clinic via email or chat before coming to confirm they had Mandarin-speaking staff? I've heard that some places can arrange that beforehand, so it's smoother when you arrive.
Hey! I totally get the language worry—I was nervous about the same thing when I first went. Honestly, a lot of places in Seoul are pretty used to international patients, and many staff members speak at least some English. My tip would be to email the clinic beforehand in English and ask about their interpreter options or English-speaking staff, so there's no surprise on the day. Most places I've seen were super accommodating about it, and they want you to feel comfortable during your consultation!
