Hi everyone! I'm Cinta from Jakarta, and I'm planning an aesthetic treatment in Seoul next month. But I'm a bit worried about the language barrier. I speak English fairly well, but not fluently. So, my question is: at the clinics there, are consultations in English sufficient? Or should I look for one with an Indonesian translator or at least staff who can speak Indonesian?
I've actually checked several places online, and some seem to have English-speaking staff, but I'm worried about miscommunication regarding my desired results. This is especially true for the face, so details are crucial, right?
Has anyone had a consultation in Seoul without speaking the local language? What was your experience like? Or do you have any suggestions on how to communicate effectively despite the language barrier? Thanks in advance! 🙏

Shinta, I understand! I was worried because my Japanese isn't perfect either 😅 But when I actually went, it was fine to communicate in English during the counseling session. However, I was worried about the subtle nuances, so I wrote my questions in English and sent them via email beforehand, and went after receiving the answers. Also, having a translation app is reassuring!
Hi Shinta, I hope you're doing well! I had the same concerns. I have a question: when you inquired online, what kind of response did you receive from the clinic regarding language support? In my experience, if you write a detailed explanation of your concerns in advance via email, it seems to make it easier for the interpreter to prepare on the day of your appointment.
I've been considering something similar, so I completely understand your concerns! In my experience, many clinics do have English-speaking staff, but as you mentioned, facial treatments really require detailed communication. I'm thinking maybe you could prepare your descriptions beforehand using a translation app or online translation tool; that might make the consultation smoother? Some clinics also offer translation services, so perhaps you could ask them beforehand.
