Hello everyone! I'm Putri from Indonesia, and I'm planning to come to Seoul next month for an aesthetic consultation. I'm a bit worried about the language barrier, to be honest. I speak English quite fluently, but not Korean at all.
What I'm wondering is: do most clinics in Seoul offer consultations in English? Or is it better to hire a translator before coming? I'm worried about mistranslations and misunderstandings with the doctor, especially regarding expectations and treatment results.
Has anyone had this experience? Do their staff generally speak English, or is that typical? I want to prepare myself as best as possible before this trip. Thanks!

Hey Putri! I totally get the language anxiety — I was nervous too before my trip. Honestly, most places in Seoul that cater to international clients have at least one English-speaking staff member, so you'll probably be okay, but I'd definitely email ahead and confirm they have English consultation available. I didn't hire a translator, but I wrote down my questions beforehand in simple English and brought pictures of what I was asking about, which really helped avoid miscommunications!
I'm also considering going to Seoul for a consultation, but I'm a little worried about the language barrier! My English is okay, but I don't speak Korean, so I feel it's important to confirm beforehand whether the hospital allows communication in English to avoid misunderstandings. I hope to see some advice from experienced people here!
