Hello, my name is Bee from Thailand. I'm preparing to go to Seoul for a beauty consultation next week, but I'm a little worried about communication. I can speak English reasonably well at home, but my concern is that discussing medical details or my health history in English might not be clear enough for the doctors to fully understand.
Has anyone consulted in Seoul before? Is English sufficient for consultations, or should I book in advance to request an official English interpreter? I'm wondering if most hospitals have English-speaking staff, or if I should try to find a translator or use a translation app? I'd love some advice from experienced ladies!

Hi Bee! When I went to Seoul last year, I used a translator app on my phone and it was quite helpful, but the most important thing is to contact their consultation place first before you go—most of the places I visited had staff who could speak English and they're used to international patients, so don't worry too much!
I'm also considering going to Seoul for a consultation! I think it would be more reassuring to call the clinic in advance to confirm if they have English or Chinese-speaking staff. Many places do have English speakers, and if all else fails, translation apps can work too.
I completely understand your concern! I was in the same boat last year. Actually, many clinics have English-speaking staff or offer translation services. However, my advice is to directly tell them you need to communicate in English when you book your appointment. This way, they can make arrangements in advance, which will give you more peace of mind.
Hi Bee! I'm also from Southeast Asia and have been considering consultations in Seoul recently, so I really understand your concerns. I've heard that many places have staff who can communicate in English, but I'm currently researching whether to inform the clinic in advance via email or Line that I'll need English assistance, so they can prepare beforehand. You could try contacting them first to see how their English services are – it's better than worrying when you get there!
Don't worry, Bee! I'm thinking the same thing. Many times on the forum, people mentioned that when you book in advance and mention you're a foreigner, they often prepare English-speaking staff. Or if you're not sure, try using a translation app. Keep a list of questions you want to ask beforehand. This method is much easier. Either way, don't forget to read reviews from users like us first.
