Hi everyone, I'm Tuyến from Vietnam and I'm planning to go to Seoul for some aesthetic procedures. I'm worried about communication since my English isn't great, and I basically don't know Korean at all.
I'm wondering if English will be enough to get by during consultations at clinics in Seoul, or if I should find a translator or tour guide. I know many places have English-speaking staff, but I'm not sure about the quality.
Has anyone traveled from Vietnam and managed with just English? Or does anyone have recommendations for my situation? I want to make sure I fully understand what they're saying, since this is pretty important. Thank you!

I'm from Taiwan too, and I've been thinking about getting treatments done in Seoul lately, so I totally relate to your question! My English isn't great either, but I've found that many clinics do have English-speaking staff—they're just at very different levels. I'm also considering whether I should hire a translator or use a translation app as backup, because with cosmetic procedures, you really need to make sure everything is communicated clearly.
I faced the same worry when I went to Seoul! The thing is, English alone isn't always enough, especially when it comes to medical topics and fine details — I'd recommend trying to bring a translator or a friend who speaks Korean or English better than you, because cosmetic procedures require complete understanding with no room for confusion.
I'm also planning to go to Seoul for a treatment, so I totally get your concerns! My English isn't great either, but I've asked a few friends who've been there before, and they said most aesthetic clinics do have English-speaking staff. That said, you're right—their level of expertise varies quite a bit. I'm currently considering whether to hire a translator or just write down all my important questions beforehand. Either way would give me more peace of mind.
Hello! When I go with someone who speaks English, we're lucky. But I'm curious—have you tried contacting the clinic beforehand to ask if they have translation services? It might be helpful to keep some important numbers in English ready beforehand too. 😊
