Hello, I'm Wafaa from the UAE, and I'm thinking of going to Seoul for a cosmetic consultation next month. I'm a bit worried about the language barrier, as I only speak Arabic and English, not Korean. Is English sufficient in the clinics there? Or should I bring a translator with me?
Thankfully, my English is good, but sometimes there are precise medical details that might need more detailed explanations, especially if I want to ask about specific things. I'm also worried that the doctor might not understand me correctly, or I might not understand them correctly. Has anyone from the Gulf tried this, and what was their experience like?
Any tips to help me be better prepared for the consultation? Thank you so much! 💕

Hello Fafa! 🙌 I'm also from the UAE and was thinking of going to Seoul next month. My question is: have you tried sending a list of questions you wanted to ask in writing before you went for your consultation? Could this help a bit with the language barrier?
Wafa, I totally get it! I had similar worries. I think basic communication in English is fine, but it can be nerve-wracking when it comes to detailed medical explanations, right? Before my consultation, I wrote down what I wanted to ask in English and brought it as a note, or I used a translation app. Some clinics have English-speaking staff, so I think it's a good idea to inquire beforehand 💕
Wafa, I totally understand how you feel! I'm experiencing similar anxieties and am actually considering a consultation in Seoul next month. It's so important to accurately convey the finer medical details, isn't it? It might be a good idea to write down your questions in English beforehand or use a translation app. I also recommend emailing the clinic in advance to ask if they can accommodate English speakers. Let's do our best together! 💕
Hi Wafa! When I last went to Seoul for a consultation, I only knew English too. My experience was that some clinic doctors had good English, while others were just okay. So, I suggest you write down your key questions beforehand (in English or Arabic, either is fine). Before your consultation, send them to the clinic and see if they can prepare translated materials for you. This will make the process much more efficient, and at least the medical details won't be easily misunderstood 💕
