Hi, my name is Yui. I'm planning to go to Seoul next month for a consultation about cosmetic procedures, but I'm worried about the language barrier. I can speak English fairly well, but I've heard that there are clinics that offer consultations in Japanese.
What do you all actually do? Has anyone had a consultation entirely in English? Or should I look for a place that offers Japanese-language consultations? I'm wondering if it would be more reassuring to discuss the nuances of the procedures in my native language...
Also, if anyone has used an interpreter service, I would appreciate it if you could tell me about the process. This is my first consultation, so I want to proceed with as little anxiety as possible.

I understand your concerns 😊 I tried speaking only English during my first consultation, but what helped a lot was preparing a written list of questions beforehand + taking photos/videos of what I wanted done. These really helped to make communication clearer. If you're really anxious, you could try finding a place that offers the service in another language.
I'm also interested in this question! I went to Seoul last summer and during my first consultation I only spoke English. It was mostly good, but I had difficulty understanding some of the details. If possible, it would be a good idea to find a clinic that has an interpreter or speaks your language, so that you can travel without unnecessary stress.
