Hi everyone! I'm Peiyun from Taiwan. I've recently started seriously considering getting some cosmetic procedures in Seoul, but my biggest concern isn't the procedures themselves, but rather the communication. My English is pretty good, but I definitely won't be able to discuss very detailed medical matters in English. Does anyone know if it's possible to communicate effectively at a clinic in Seoul using only English and basic Chinese? Or should I find a translator or a place with Chinese-speaking staff?
I'm a little worried that if communication is unclear, the doctor might not fully understand the results I want, which would be terrible. So I'd like to ask experienced people how they handled this language barrier? Has anyone had a translator with them? Or do most clinics offer English consultations?
If anyone has recently had a consultation in Seoul, please share your experience, especially regarding communication. Thank you!

Hi Fei Yun! I totally understand your concerns; communication is crucial for cosmetic procedures. From my experience with consultations in Seoul, many places have English- or even Mandarin-speaking staff, but it's best to prepare some written questions in clear English to avoid any misunderstandings. Good luck!
I completely understand how you feel, Paywen! When I went from Japan, I was also worried about the language barrier, but honestly, in larger clinics, there were often staff who could speak English. However, if you want to convey specific requests, it might be a good idea to prepare notes in advance or use a translation app while you're talking to them.
