Hello everyone! I'm Kartika from Jakarta, and I'm planning to go to Seoul next month for a consultation about aesthetic treatments. But I'm a bit worried about the language barrier – I can speak English, but it's pretty basic. So, my question is, can clinics there usually handle consultations in English? Or do they only speak Korean and maybe a little Mandarin?
Has anyone here had a consultation in Seoul before? What was your experience like? Do they provide translators, or should I bring a friend who speaks Korean? I'm also curious if there are any clinics that actually speak Indonesian, or is that too wishful thinking 😅
This is a serious concern for me because I want to communicate clearly about what I want and I'm afraid of any misunderstandings. Thanks for your input!

Hi Katika! I had the same worries last year 😅 In my experience, many places do offer English consultations, but the quality varies, and sometimes there are still communication hiccups. I ended up bringing a friend who understands Korean with me, and it made me feel much more at ease because it's really important to confirm the treatment details clearly. If you can find a translator or a friend to go with you, I think it would be safer!
Hey Kartika! I'm in a similar boat coming from the US next month—did you end up finding any places that offer Indonesian or English consultations, or are you thinking of bringing a translator friend along? I'm leaning toward bringing someone just to be safe, but curious what you find out!
Oh, I was thinking of going to Seoul too! I totally get your concern, because language is a really big deal. My friend mentioned that some places have staff who speak English, but you might need to contact them beforehand to be sure. Or, if possible, finding a friend who speaks Korean to go with you might be even better. 🙏
