Actually, I work the morning shift at a convenience store. My job involves repetitive tasks like cashiering, stocking shelves, and organizing inventory, but at some point, I realized I had gained nearly 7kg. Since I am in charge of handling products nearing their expiration date, I end up eating bread or triangle kimbap several times a day. Even though I want to reduce my food intake, it is difficult because food is always right in front of me.
Since menopause, I feel like I am gaining weight particularly severely around my belly and back. I spend a long time standing in front of the refrigerated beverage section, and because that area gets so cold, I think I have developed coldness in my lower body as well. Watching myself gain weight like this, I began to think that my basal metabolic rate itself has dropped significantly. After all, I haven't been able to exercise at all for four years.
When your basal metabolic rate is low, it becomes easy to develop a body type that accumulates fat easily, and I am worried because my current situation seems to be exactly like that. Since it is difficult to reduce my food intake in this environment, I felt I needed to look for ways to boost my basal metabolic rate first.
Are there any ways to increase my basal metabolic rate other than exercise, or are there any supplements or diet foods? I am curious to know how those who have approached this issue did. I would appreciate it if those who have managed their basal metabolic rate after menopause could share their honest experiences in the comments! What is good for boosting basal metabolic rate?

I've found that when your basal metabolic rate drops, you gain weight even if you eat just a little.
It also seems like you gain weight even faster if you are in an environment where you can't control your diet.
I think having a job where you are close to food must be really difficult.
While looking into various ways to increase my basal metabolic rate, I eventually ended up trying Deccanic tablets.
Since the principle is to help cells consume energy more easily,
it helped improve my constitution even when I couldn't exercise.
Deccanic tablets? I've never heard the name before.
Is it effective even with my blood pressure this low?
I'm curious about the ingredients.
I didn't experience any stomach discomfort or anything like that while eating it.
The best part for me was being able to eat it consistently without putting a strain on my stomach.
I see Deccanic tablets are available here too, haha.
There are a lot of people around me who take them, and the reviews seem good.
I'm thinking about trying them myself because I heard they are effective.
If you leave your basal metabolic rate low,
it becomes really much harder to manage later on.
I regretted it because I just left it alone and ended up gaining more weight.
The timing you are currently worrying about is the right one.
I've been gaining a lot of weight around my belly and back since menopause.
Since this is a time when hormonal changes and declines occur simultaneously,
I've found that relying solely on diet has its limits.
I think it would be better to approach this from a constitutional perspective as well.
If you stand in front of the refrigerated section for a long time,
it can lead to poor circulation in your lower body and worsen your constitution.
Since basal metabolic rate and circulation issues often occur together,
I found that you need to address both of them at the same time to see results.
If you have a four-year hiatus from exercising, many people end up getting injured after forcing themselves to start over.
I think it would be better for long-term maintenance to build up your fitness first and then start moving slowly. I'm rooting for you!
I came across this while looking for how to upload.
The comments are all so helpful haha. I'll keep them in mind for myself too.
Starving yourself or cutting back actually makes things worse.
Forcing yourself to reduce your food intake can actually make your constitution worse.
It is much better to improve your constitution while you continue to eat.
Thanks for the good information! I enjoyed reading this.
