Hi, I'm Wakana. I'm thinking about getting beauty treatments in Korea, but I'm worried about making a mistake when choosing a clinic...😅
Since I'm a foreigner, I'm concerned about the language barrier and communication with the doctor. How do you all find trustworthy clinics? Are there a lot of places with interpreters, or do you find them on your own?
I'd really appreciate it if you could share what things you should check during consultations and experiences from people who have actually had procedures done. I can speak a little Korean, but I'm not confident about medical terminology and detailed explanations, so I'm wondering if Japanese-language support is better after all... If you have any advice on that, I'd love to hear it.

I completely understand your concerns! I'm a foreigner too, and I was also worried about language barriers at first. My suggestion would be to check out reviews and experiences shared by other international patients on social media or forums first—that way you'll get a clearer picture of which clinics are more welcoming to international patients. When you have your consultation, you can bring along a translation app or write down your questions in advance, which will make things a lot easier 😊
I was also worried about the language barrier at first, but I found that many places in Korea have English-speaking staff or can arrange interpreters, so it's safest to ask ahead before booking! I'd suggest preparing a list of questions in Korean beforehand or using Google Translate to clarify medical details, since sometimes the descriptions in marketing materials and consultation documents don't quite match up.
Wagana, you're in the same situation as us! Since I'm also a foreign client, I have to say I was genuinely worried about the language barrier and medical terminology. It really seemed important to either use an online translator or find a clinic with English-speaking staff.
Wakana, I totally understand how you feel! I was nervous at first too, but honestly, I think the best approach is to just ask directly during your consultation: "Do you have Japanese-speaking staff?" 😊 Some clinics have interpreters on hand for medical terminology, and it's also helpful to search online reviews for experiences from other foreigners. You've got this!
