Hi everyone, I'm Nan. I'm planning to go to Seoul for a skin management consultation, but I'm a little worried about the language barrier. My English is okay, but I barely speak any Korean… I've heard some clinics offer translation services, but I'm not sure if all of them do.
Have any of you used only English or Chinese during your consultations in Seoul? How do clinics usually handle this? I'm thinking of preparing some medical terminology in English and Chinese beforehand, or maybe just using a translation app. Has anyone gone through this? Could you share your experience?
Also, I heard that you might need to call or email to confirm the appointment. Will that be difficult to communicate in terms of language? I'm a little nervous, haha, it's my first time doing this in Korea.

I had the same concerns, but when I actually went for a consultation, I managed to get by with a translation app and prior email communication! By the way, were you able to confirm whether they offered English support when you made your reservation?
I'm also considering consulting in Seoul, and I totally understand your concerns! I've heard that many hospitals do offer translation services or English consultations. You can call or email them in advance to inquire; they're usually very patient in replying in English or Chinese, and some even support translation apps. I'm currently preparing my medical vocabulary and apps, so let's cheer each other on!
