Hi everyone, I'm Jing, and I'm considering getting some beauty treatments in Seoul. However, I'm a little worried about the language barrier. My English is okay, but not fluent, and my Chinese is fine, of course. I'd like to ask experienced ladies: is English usually sufficient for consultations at clinics or hospitals in Seoul? Or is it better to find a place with Chinese translation services?
I've heard that many clinics have international patients, but I'm unsure about their language services. Are larger clinics generally more reliable? Has anyone used translation apps and how effective were they? I really want to make sure I can clearly express my needs and concerns, and I don't want to regret it because of communication problems.
Has anyone shared their experience? Thanks!

I'm Vietnamese too, so I understand your concerns haha. My experience is that large places in Seoul usually have English-speaking staff, but it's a good idea to prepare paper and pen or a translation app to be sure of the details. I find that combining English + app + paper and pen works better than just one method!
Reading your story, I understand your concerns! When I went myself, I tried using a couple of real-time translation apps and found them helpful, but complex medical sentences were still confusing 😅 I recommend trying email first, sending clear images or questions, as many places have staff available for international guests to provide feedback. Thank you!
I completely understand your concerns! I had the same worry before, afraid that I wouldn't be able to explain what I wanted due to the language barrier. In my experience, larger places usually have Chinese-speaking staff, but it's best to ask beforehand or bring a translation app just in case, just for peace of mind.
I completely understand your concerns! I had the same thought before; communicating in English can be a bit nerve-wracking. In my experience, many places have staff who speak Chinese, but it's best to call or contact them via WeChat beforehand to make sure someone can help you in Chinese and explain your needs more clearly. That way, you can feel more at ease.
I feel the same way! I'm worried about the language barrier. Have you tried contacting the clinic yet? Ask if they have a Chinese interpreter. 😅
