Hello everyone! My name is Hesti, from Indonesia. I'm seriously considering trying aesthetic treatment in Seoul next month, but I'm a bit nervous about the language barrier. I speak English fairly well, but not Korean at all.
I'd like to ask those of you who have had consultations in Seoul: can clinics there handle consultations in English? Or should I look for a clinic with Indonesian-speaking staff? I'm worried that important details might be lost in communication if I use an interpreter or Google Translate, especially regarding expectations and aftercare.
Has anyone had experience consulting in English only? How was the outcome? I'm also interested in knowing whether it's more worthwhile to find a strictly English-friendly clinic or if I should invest in a local tour guide who can accompany me to my consultation.
Thanks in advance! Appreciate any insights from you all 🙏

I completely understand your concerns! I'm also from abroad, and I was initially worried about the language barrier too. In my experience, many clinics do offer English consultations, but the quality varies greatly. So I suggest communicating in detail beforehand via email or WeChat to find out if they have English-speaking staff, and ideally, confirm the consultant's English proficiency. If possible, bringing a translator friend will give you peace of mind, especially when discussing important details like post-operative care.
I understand your concerns! I also came to Seoul from abroad and faced a similar situation. In my experience, many places in Seoul have English-speaking staff, but the quality of communication varies from place to place. I think it's a good idea to prepare a list of important questions in English beforehand, or if possible, find a local person to accompany you to ensure you get more details after treatment 😊
Hi! I'm also from Southeast Asia, and I think your concerns are valid. Have you considered emailing a few clinics in English before you leave to inquire about their English consultation services? I've heard that some consultants speak good English, but it's definitely better to ask beforehand to be on the safe side. I hope you find a suitable place!
