I just had a minor procedure done in Korea and am now in the recovery phase. My face is temporarily swollen and bruised, which I know is a normal reaction, but I want to try to take the best possible care of it. Could anyone with experience please share some tips?
I'm currently trying to keep my head elevated while sleeping, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding spicy foods. But I'm not sure if I should use a face mask or do anything else. Someone suggested gentle massage after 2-3 days, but I'm worried about whether I should do it. I'm not too worried because I know it's a normal process, but I still want to do a proper recovery.
What did you all do during the first few weeks of recovery? Did you need to avoid the sun, do any exercise, or anything special? Thank you so much! 💕

I've been through something similar before, and I found that cold compresses were really helpful in the first few days, reducing swelling and bruising. Regarding massage, I suggest waiting for your doctor to give you a clear warning before doing it, as different treatments have different recovery times. What you're doing now (elevating your head, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding spicy food) is already very good!
Wow, your recovery progress sounds very reasonable! I was wondering how long it took for your swelling and bruising to start showing significant improvement? I'm also considering getting a minor procedure done and want to be mentally prepared for the recovery time 😅
I totally get the worry about doing things right during recovery! Honestly, I just kept my head elevated religiously and avoided anything hot (like hot showers and spicy food) for the first week or so—that seemed to help with the swelling more than I expected. Sunscreen became my best friend too, just staying indoors mostly and being really careful when I did go out. Everyone heals differently though, so maybe check in with whoever did your procedure about the massage timing?
