Hi everyone, I'm Xia, and I've been thinking about getting some skin care consultations in Seoul recently, but I'm particularly worried about the language barrier. My English is decent, but Chinese would definitely be more comfortable for me. I wanted to ask everyone – do you absolutely need to speak Korean or English to get a consultation at a clinic? Has anyone successfully had a consultation in Chinese before?
I've noticed that some clinics seem to provide translators, but I'm not really sure if that's a common practice. Has anyone here been to Seoul and could share their experience? Do you need to mention that you need a translator when you make the appointment in advance? I'm a bit nervous and don't want things to get awkward because of communication issues haha.
Also, I wanted to ask what the consultation process is like over there? Is it just the doctor, or will there be a dedicated consultant to explain things? I feel like learning more about it beforehand would make me feel more at ease. Thanks everyone!

I'm in the exact same situation! It seems like a good idea that vein specialists need a substitute before meeting with a doctor or consultant. My friend explained her need for a direct messaging language when she pre-ordered, and she said she received excellent assistance.
I'm worried just like you! I tried calling ahead to ask if they had staff who spoke Chinese, and luckily, some places were willing to help, but you need to be clear from the moment you book your appointment so they can prepare. I think writing down your important questions in Chinese or English beforehand would also be very helpful!
