Hi, this is Honoka. I'm planning to get a beauty consultation in Seoul soon, but I'm a little worried about the language barrier... I can manage basic conversational English, and of course, my Japanese is perfect. But I really can't speak Korean.
Do most clinics have interpreters during consultations? Or is it more common to communicate in English? For those who have actually had a consultation in Seoul, what was it like? I'm worried about misunderstandings, and I want to make sure I clearly communicate my wishes...

Honoka, I understand! I had the same anxieties at first. When I actually went, I found that larger clinics often had Japanese-speaking staff, and it's a good idea to let them know in advance via email that you'd like an explanation in Japanese. Also, I recommend writing down your wishes in bullet points on a piece of paper and bringing it with you. It will reduce your language worries and make it easier for the counselor to understand you 😊
Honoka is great! I'm having the same problem - speaking English is good, but I'm worried about expressing our needs properly. From what other people have said in the comments, it seems that many clinics have online services, and even translation services, Geisen said. It would be a good idea to ask questions beforehand about how your symptoms will go in English or Japanese!
