Hi everyone! I'm Salsa from Indonesia, and I have a question. I'm looking for aesthetic clinics in Korea for treatment, but honestly it's really difficult to read their local reviews because I don't understand Hangul very well. Has anyone experienced the same thing?
What I'm curious about is, if the reviews are on Korean local platforms, how can we know if those reviews are legitimate or just the usual marketing stuff? Because everywhere you go there are people who cheat, right. I'm worried I'll end up finding a clinic that's just half-baked.
Are there any red flags I should look out for when viewing reviews or clinic descriptions, even if the translation isn't 100% accurate? Like... claims that sound too good to be true, or is there another way to find out the reputation of a place from an international patient's perspective?
Thank you! I'd really appreciate any insights from those who've been through this 🙏

Hey Salsa! I totally relate to what you're feeling 😅 I was also super confused at first with local reviews and Korean language, but over time I started asking for help from Korean friends or trying to translate using Google Lens for review photos, even though it's definitely not 100% accurate. What helped the most was actually chatting directly with their online consultation first—usually their staff can speak English and can answer our questions in more detail, so we can assess for ourselves how they communicate 💭
Salsa, I'm from Vietnam too so I totally get how you feel 😅 Have you tried reaching out to clinics directly in English or through Instagram yet? I've noticed a lot of places have English-speaking staff or translators, and they could probably help you understand the reviews and procedures better!
I completely understand your concerns! I'm also considering getting a procedure done in Korea, and since I don't really understand Korean either, I can totally relate to what you're going through. Right now I'm trying to find clinics that offer more English or Chinese consultations, which would make communication easier and help us get a clearer picture of what's really going on. Let's work through this together—I hope we can both find a trustworthy place!
