Hi everyone, I'm Rong. I'm considering going to South Korea for a cosmetic surgery consultation, but as a foreigner, I'm a little uneasy. I'd like to ask experienced women how you usually find trustworthy clinics? Do you always look for clinics with translators, or are they multilingual clinics?
My biggest worry is communication. I feel that with cosmetic procedures, it would be terrible if there was a misunderstanding between the doctor and me. Does anyone ask the clinic about translation and consultation languages before the consultation? How do they usually respond?
Also, besides language, what else should I check? For example, does the clinic have a business license? Or are there any ways online to get a preliminary understanding of a clinic's reputation? I hope you can share some reliable experiences and advice. Thank you!

I'm also a foreigner and currently considering coming to Korea for consultations, so I understand your concerns! I think the communication issues you mentioned are really important. I also plan to ask the hospital beforehand if they have Chinese translators or what languages we can communicate in. I hope everyone can share some experiences so we can all make decisions with more confidence 😊
Hi Long! I've been worried about this too. If I may ask, when you called the hospital to inquire about translation services, did they give you clear information straight away, or was it a bit difficult to understand? I'm curious if all good places have a well-organized communication system for international patients.
Ron, I completely understand! I was also very worried about the language barrier at first, but when I inquired in detail via email beforehand, many hospitals clearly answered whether or not they had an interpretation service. I think that hospitals that are thorough and helpful during the initial consultation stage are more likely to be trustworthy later on.
