Lately, Sung Si-kyung's pork jowl rice bowl video kept popping up in my algorithm, so I decided to try making it myself haha.
I usually prefer grilled pork jowl, but eating it as a rice bowl feels like a whole different experience!
I saw pork jowl on the Naver Store and bought it just to grill for a quick dinner.
The price was reasonable, but I was even more satisfied because the meat was surprisingly fresh haha.
The color of the meat was good, and there was no gamey smell at all.
Is it because of Chef Choi Kang-rok's braised pork jowl from "Black & White Chef"?
It seems like pork jowl dishes are really popular these days.
I followed Sung Si-kyung's pork jowl rice bowl recipe, and I was surprised by how "rice thief" style it was!
The sweet and salty seasoning soaked into the rice, and I just kept eating it haha.
I made braised pork jowl in soy sauce using ingredients I had at home.
I made it a style with a bit of broth, braising the onions and green onions together, and the vegetables tasted delicious too... What happened??
Putting it on top like a rice bowl was a total success! My disobedient son gave me a thumbs up haha.
The taste is good and the price of the pork jowl is reasonable, so next time I'm going to buy plenty and try making a spicy version haha.
