Hi, this is Mei. I had a minor cosmetic procedure in Seoul last week, but I ended up with more swelling and bruising than I expected...😅
The procedure itself was easier than I thought it would be, but I'm a little worried about the aftercare. I have a few days left before I return home, so I'd like some advice on how to spend this time. I heard that applying cold compresses is important, but are there any other things that people have tried that have worked well? I'd love to know about any tips regarding food, sleeping positions, or anything else you've tried.
I know the time it takes for the swelling to go down will vary from person to person, but...it would be reassuring to hear from people who have had similar experiences. If you have any general care tips or advice on how to spend this time, please let me know!

I experienced something similar last time, and ice packs are definitely important! My tip is that in addition to cold compresses, try to keep your head elevated while sleeping (use an extra pillow), as this seems to help reduce swelling faster. Also, I avoided very spicy foods and hot drinks for those few days; I'm not sure if it was just psychological, but it felt helpful 😄
Hi Mei! I can totally relate to your feelings, I've been in the same position too 😅 What helped me the most was sleeping with my head slightly elevated and really getting some rest, and drinking lots of water — it's simple but it really makes a difference. I hope the rest of your time here goes smoothly and the swelling goes down quickly!
Hi Mei! I also experienced swelling after a minor procedure, and the thing that helped the most was sleeping with higher pillows—like 2-3—to keep my head elevated while I rested. I also tried to avoid overly salty foods and hot drinks, and just drink more water. Hopefully, it gets better soon before I go back! 💙
Mei, have you tried elevating your head while sleeping? I heard it helps reduce swelling quite a bit, but I'd like to know what your experience was like. 😊
Hi sister! I also wanted to ask, how long do you need to apply ice to feel any relief from the swelling? I heard that some people find that sleeping with their head elevated by a pillow is quite effective; have you tried that?
