Torn between getting work done at home vs. coming to Korea — how did you decide?

Hi everyone! I'm Nicole from the US and I've been going back and forth on this for months now. I'm interested in getting some aesthetic work done, and I keep seeing all these posts about people traveling to Korea for procedures. The cost difference is pretty significant, and I'm intrigued by the whole experience, but I'm also nervous about doing something like that away from home, you know?

I can get similar treatments in my area, but they'd cost way more and honestly, some of the doctors I've researched online just don't have the same aesthetic philosophy I'm looking for. But then I think... am I just romanticizing Korea? Like, is it actually worth the travel, jetlag, recovery time away from my normal life? And I'd obviously want to do my own research on any clinic or doctor regardless of location.

For those of you who've made this decision — did you go for it abroad or stay local? What made you choose? Was it purely the cost, or did you feel like you'd found someone whose work you really trusted? I'd love to hear how you weighed it all out, especially if you had doubts at first.
