Hi everyone, I'm Tiantian. I'm recently considering getting some aesthetic consultations in Seoul but I'm a bit worried about the language barrier. My English is okay, and I'm fluent in Chinese, but I don't speak much Korean. I wanted to ask if anyone with experience knows if English is sufficient for consultations at aesthetic clinics, or if many places offer Chinese translation services.
I've noticed some clinic websites seem to offer multilingual support, but I'm not sure how it actually works. Do I need to book a Chinese translator in advance, or are there translators available on-site? Are there any extra fees for this service?
If anyone has recently visited Seoul for consultations, could you please share your experiences? I'm particularly interested in knowing if communication was smooth and if doctors or consultants were able to understand your needs. Thank you all!

Hello! I'm also a Chinese speaker, and I wanted to ask if you've ever tried communicating in Chinese when booking appointments online? Last time I booked, I noticed that some clinics' online customer service could actually respond in Chinese. This might make it clearer what you need.
I totally get your concern! From what I've experienced, a lot of places do have English-speaking staff or can arrange interpreters, but I'd honestly recommend emailing a few clinics directly before your visit to ask about language support—some have it readily available while others might need advance notice. It's definitely worth asking upfront so there's no confusion during your consultation!
Hi Tien, I'm thinking the same thing! From what I've read on forums here, many clinics in Seoul can handle English well, so we might be in luck. It seems we'll definitely need to confirm before our appointments whether they can provide an interpreter or if they already have English-speaking staff, as each place has a different system. Hopefully, we can find the right clinic where communication is smooth!
