Hi, my name is Bua. Yesterday I had a minor procedure in South Korea, so I'm still a little swollen and distended. I have to return to Thailand in a week, so I'd appreciate any tips on self-care during recovery to help reduce swelling faster.
I'm currently trying basic things like applying cold compresses, elevating my head, and avoiding strenuous activities, but I'm not sure how long it will take to fully recover. Has anyone been through this before? I'd like real, experienced tips, not medical advice.
Normally, does the swelling usually start to subside after about 3-5 days, or does it take longer? Are there any things that can help me feel more comfortable during this time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! 🙏

I understand, Bua! I've been through the same thing. The swelling really does last a while, but it will gradually get better. Try drinking plenty of water and using an extra pillow when you sleep to elevate your head. Relax and be patient; it will get better in 1-2 weeks. 😊
I'm also a foreigner, and I had the same problem after my treatment, so I really understand how you feel! I just kept applying cold compresses and keeping my head elevated as much as possible, and rested as much as possible because activity really worsens the swelling. It should subside significantly within a week. Good luck! 💪
Bua, I'm also considering doing something similar, so reading your post was very helpful! Your basic care methods (cold compresses, head elevation, avoiding movement) sound very reasonable, and I'll keep those points in mind when I try it. Wishing you a speedy recovery before your flight back to Thailand! 😊
Hi Buya! I'm also considering a similar project, and your experience is quite helpful. The ice packs and head elevation you're doing are really the most basic and important things. I heard from a friend that most of the swelling usually subsides within a week. Good luck!
