Hi everyone! So I just had a small procedure done here in Seoul and I'm trying to figure out the best way to take care of myself over the next week or so. I'm dealing with some swelling and light bruising, which I was told to expect, but I'm honestly not sure what actually helps vs. what's just a myth, you know?
I've heard people mention things like keeping it elevated, cold compresses, and being careful with certain activities, but I'd love to hear from people who've actually gone through this. What worked for you? Are there any products or everyday things that made a real difference? Also, how long did it actually take before you felt back to normal?
I'm also curious about what I should avoid—like, should I be worried about exercise, hot water, certain foods? I want to make sure I'm doing this right since I'm traveling and can't just camp out at home if something goes wrong, haha. Any fellow travelers or Korea-based friends have advice on managing recovery while still living your life? Thanks so much!

I'm also a tourist and I understand your concern! Honestly, it was my first time having surgery here and I was a little scared, but the doctor explained clearly that swelling and bruising are perfectly normal in the first few days. I'm following your advice to avoid moving around too much and keep your head elevated while sleeping. I noticed that ice helped me more than anything else, but you should definitely listen to the doctor's instructions because he knows your case best 💙
I also had a simple procedure done while traveling in Korea, and at that time I used extra pillows and kept my head elevated when I slept! Also, after the procedure I only drank cold drinks and avoided hot ones. It took quite a while for the swelling to completely go down, so I think it's best not to rush and follow the doctor's instructions. It's tough when you're traveling, so take care!
