Hello! I'm Sarah from the UAE and I'm planning a trip to Seoul next month for a cosmetic consultation. My main question is: Is English sufficient for communicating with clinics there? I'm a bit worried about explaining things in detail and fully understanding, especially when we discuss specific aspects.
Have any of you had a similar experience? Do the staff during consultations usually speak good English? And would it be better to find a translator from the start? I'm not sure if this is necessary or not. Honestly, this is my first time considering going to Korea for skincare and beauty, so I'm a little anxious about the details 😅
Any advice from experienced ladies? Thanks in advance!

I also went for a consultation in Seoul last time and felt just as anxious as you! Honestly, English is okay, but when you want to explain exactly what you want, it gets a bit difficult because everyone's English proficiency varies. I've noticed many places have staff who speak passable English, but I always bring a translation app on my phone to make sure I understand correctly, especially when discussing specific requests. You could email them beforehand in English to ask if they have anyone who speaks English, that way you'll feel more at ease 😊
Hi Sarah, I'm also thinking about this, so I understand your concerns! From what I've heard, many places in Seoul have staff who speak English quite well, but definitely hiring an interpreter would give you more peace of mind when discussing specific details about your skin and your desires. You can ask the clinic beforehand about their English support, or contact them via email to be fully prepared!
Sarah, are you really worried? I'm just like other foreign women who came from Mongolia, feeling hesitant. From what I understand, many consultation centers in Seoul have English speakers, but when it comes to detailed questions, there's a lot of misunderstanding, and I've had bad experiences because of it. If you want to be satisfied, it might be a good idea to look for pre-consultation services so you can plan ahead. Even better, it's a good idea to ask via chat before booking! 💪
