Hi everyone! I'm planning a trip to Seoul in a couple months to explore some aesthetic treatments, and I'm getting a bit nervous about the language thing. My Korean is basically nonexistent — like, I can say hello and thank you, but that's about it lol.
I've been looking at some clinics online and a bunch of them seem to have English on their websites, but I'm wondering if that's just for marketing or if the actual doctors and staff can really communicate in English during a consultation? Has anyone here done consultations without speaking Korean? I'm worried I'll miss important details about what the procedure actually involves or what to expect afterward.
Also curious — did anyone use a translator app or bring a friend who speaks Korean? I have a friend who might be able to video call me during the appointment if needed, but I'm not sure how practical that would be. Would love to hear about your experiences! TIA 💕

Aku juga planning ke Seoul soon dan worried tentang language barrier! Btw, pas kamu browse website klinik-klinik itu, ada yang offer konsultasi online dulu sebelum datang langsung? Kayaknya bisa jadi cara yang aman buat check dulu apakah mereka beneran bisa communicate in English atau nggak.
Aku juga mau tanya, dari website-website yang udah kamu lihat itu, ada yang punya live chat atau customer service yang bisa dihubungi sebelumnya untuk test bahasa Inggris mereka? Kayaknya itu bisa jadi cara cepat untuk check apakah mereka beneran bisa komunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris atau cuma marketing doang hehe
我也在考虑去首尔做项目，你的担心我完全理解！我听说很多诊所确实有会英文的工作人员，但最好提前发邮件确认一下咨询的时候能不能用英文沟通，这样心里会更踏实一些。
わかります、私も同じ心配をしてるんです😅 でも実際に英語対応してくれるクリニックも結構あるみたいですし、翻訳アプリも昔より良くなってますよね。私も友達に相談中なので、もし経験者の話が聞けたら一緒に参考にできたらいいなって思います。
أنا أيضاً في نفس الموقف تماماً وقلقة من موضوع اللغة! لكن من اللي تكلمت معهم، بعض العيادات فعلاً فيها موظفين يتكلمون إنجليزي، بس الأفضل تتواصلي معهم قبل كم يوم عشان تتأكدي. فكرت أستخدم التطبيقات للترجمة أيضاً إذا احتجت، تمام التمام؟ 💕
