Hi everyone, I'm Fangfang from China. I'm currently considering some cosmetic procedures in South Korea, but to be honest, finding a clinic as a foreigner is a bit of a challenge. I'd like to ask the experienced ladies on this forum how you found reliable clinics? Are there any special things to be aware of?
My biggest concern is the language barrier and communication. My English is okay, but I don't understand medical terminology very well. So, I'd like to ask everyone, how important is the reliability of the translators or consultants at the clinic? How can I tell if they can accurately convey the doctor's meaning?
Also, could anyone share what questions you asked during your consultations? For example, how did you assess the doctor's experience and verify the clinic's qualifications? I know online reviews can be unreliable, so I'd like to hear your firsthand advice. Thank you!

I completely understand your concerns! I was also very nervous about the language barrier last year. My advice is: before your initial consultation, email a few hospitals to see how quickly they respond and how patient they are. Usually, communication is smoother at hospitals with a good attitude. Also, I bring a notebook with me during my consultations to take notes. If I don't understand something, I ask directly. If the medical staff are willing to explain using simple vocabulary or even drawing diagrams, it means they are genuinely interested in communicating with you. I hope you find a place where you can feel at ease!
I completely understand your concerns! I also went to Seoul for consultation as a foreigner last year. My advice is to try to take notes of the doctor's key points during your first appointment, and then ask them to explain them again in simple English or Chinese. Good hospitals are usually willing to spend extra time ensuring clear communication. Also, I would ask if they had handled similar cases; their answers will give you a good sense of their professionalism 😊
