Hello everyone! My name is Sinta, I'm from Indonesia and I'm planning aesthetic treatment in Korea next year. But honestly, I'm a bit confused about how to choose a safe clinic, especially since I can't read Korean very well. I see tons of reviews on local Korean platforms, but I don't understand what people are writing. 😅
Has anyone experienced something similar? How do you verify clinics or doctors? I'm afraid of getting a shady clinic or fake reviews. Are there any red flags I should be wary of? For example, are there any warning signs in their communication style or other things I can look out for even if I can't read local reviews fluently?
I'm also curious, is it important to interview a doctor in person before treatment? I'm sure many foreigners have similar concerns. Please share your tips or experiences! Thank you. 🙏

I'm also considering doing it in Korea, and I totally understand your concerns! Have you considered hiring a consultant who speaks English or Chinese to help you, or bringing a translator friend along for video consultations? I've heard that some people feel much more at ease after doing that.
Hi! I totally get the language anxiety thing—I'm from the US and felt the same way before my first consultation here. Honestly, I'd recommend asking the clinic if they have English-speaking staff or can provide a translator during your consultation, because communicating clearly with your doctor is really important for safety and getting what you actually want. Also, checking if they have any international patient reviews (even in English) or asking in expat Facebook groups specific to your country might help you feel more confident about which places other foreigners have actually visited!
Hi Synthia, I'm also from Vietnam so I understand your concerns! I wanted to ask if you plan to meet with the doctor in person before making a decision, or if you'll contact them online first? I think talking directly (even via video) with the doctor would give you more peace of mind than just reading reviews 😊
I'm also from the UAE and I faced the same problem! 😅 Did you try contacting the clinics via WhatsApp or email in English and see if they responded quickly or were they uncooperative? Because I noticed that the speed of their response and their clear explanation in foreign languages says a lot about their professionalism.
I totally understand how you feel, Shinta! I also have trouble reading Korean reviews in Japanese. 😅 Have you actually started looking for a clinic yet? I'd love to hear if you have any tips, like bringing an interpreter when you go for a consultation, or asking questions in English via email beforehand.
Oh, I'm in the same situation as you! I had the same idea when I first started, and I was very nervous because I didn't know Korean well. If you have any suggestions, it would be a good idea to ask the hospital to hire an interpreter during the consultation or use an online translation tool, because good hospitals are good at understanding foreign languages. ☺️
