Hello, it's Mizuki. I've recently become interested in cosmetic procedures in Korea, but I'm struggling with how to find a trustworthy clinic. I'm wondering how Japanese and foreign patients make their decisions.
I'm particularly concerned about language support and the quality of consultations. I'm even anxious about basic things like whether they have interpreters or if they offer consultations in Japanese or English... Is there anything you prioritize when choosing a clinic?
I imagine there are many differences compared to clinics in Japan, so I would be very grateful for advice from people who have actually had procedures in Korea, or for tips on what to check. What points do you all consider when making your decision?

I had it done in Seoul last year. My personal advice is to first check their Chinese or English website, then call directly to ask the consultant if they can communicate in your language. This way, you can quickly filter out places that don't have experience with international patients. Also, be sure to ask clearly about pre-operative examinations and post-operative care. Some hospitals' follow-up services are really quite different, and I think it's better to ask a few more times about this compared to Japanese hospitals to feel at ease!
As a fellow foreigner, I understand your concerns! A little tip from my experience is to check if they have a website or Instagram with English/Japanese guides, and try calling ahead to test if their consultants are patient in explaining things — this will give you a feel for their service quality.
Hi Mizuki. I understand, concerns about language support can be really significant. By the way, when you actually have a consultation, is it more common to have an interpreter present, or does the doctor communicate directly in Japanese? I have the same concerns, so I'd like to know about the actual process.
