Hi everyone, I'm Dan, from China. I'm currently considering getting a minor cosmetic procedure done in South Korea, but as a foreigner, I'm really unsure where to begin. I'm worried about communication and unsure how to determine if a clinic is truly reliable.
I'd like to ask experienced friends how you found clinics? Was it through friends' recommendations, or are there any reliable channels? Also, how do you handle language barriers during consultations? Has anyone used translation software or clinic translation services? I feel a bit uneasy using translation tools to directly discuss medical details.
Furthermore, what questions should I focus on asking the clinic during the initial consultation? For example, the doctor's qualifications, the clinic's equipment, etc. I want to ensure I make a safe and satisfactory choice. If anyone has gone through the whole process, it would be great if they could share the process and points to note! Thank you everyone!

I'm also from Taiwan! My experience is to first check out other foreigners' reviews on local beauty forums or social media, then directly email the clinic to ask if they offer Chinese consultation services—many places actually have Chinese-speaking staff, so you don't have to rely entirely on translation apps. During my first consultation, I directly asked about the doctor's qualifications and the clinic's certifications. The doctor was very patient; good luck!
I'm a foreigner too, so I understand your concerns! My tip is to ask Vietnamese or foreign friends living here where they've been, and then read reviews carefully on foreign forums to see what people with real-life experience say. Regarding communication, some places have staff who speak English or even Chinese, so you can ask if they can arrange an interpreter when you go for your first consultation.
