Hi, my name is Dao. I'm planning a trip to South Korea next month for a beauty and skincare consultation at a clinic in Seoul. My question is, is my English sufficient for the consultation? I speak intermediate English, but I'm unsure if I can communicate effectively about medical matters.
Some friends have mentioned that some clinics have staff who speak Thai or that an interpreter might be necessary, but I'm not sure if that's true. This is very important to me as I want to avoid any misunderstandings about my treatment.
Has anyone been to Seoul for beauty-related consultations before? How was the process in English? What should I prepare beforehand, or are there any things I should be aware of? Thank you in advance.

Dao, I'm also considering going for a consultation in Seoul next month, so I found your post very relatable! I think intermediate English is fine, but you should contact the clinic beforehand to ask if they have staff who speak English or Vietnamese, as many clinics here try to assist international clients. If you're not comfortable, having someone knowledgeable about healthcare with you will also help you feel more at ease when discussing your wishes and concerns.
I'm also considering this, so I found your post very helpful! I think intermediate English is sufficient for communication, but if you're worried, you can prepare some medical vocabulary or even write down what you want to ask before you go to feel more confident 😊
