Hi everyone! I'm Hsiaoting from Taiwan. I'm recently thinking about trying some treatments in Korea, but to be honest, I'm quite clueless about how to find a trustworthy clinic.
My biggest concern is the language barrier—how do you all confirm if a clinic has a good translator or if the doctor speaks English? My Korean isn't very good, so I'd like to know if anyone has had this experience. Also, what are some good questions to ask during the initial consultation? Are there any red flags to be wary of?
If anyone has previously undergone treatments in Korea, could you share how you chose a clinic? Did you rely on friend recommendations, online reviews, or other methods? I'd like to hear your experiences to feel more at ease. Thank you!

Xiaoting, I understand! I was worried about the language barrier too. I think it's best to ask "Can you explain it in English?" right at the beginning of your consultation. Also, I found that getting recommendations from friends and reading reviews from people who have actually been there on community sites for foreigners were the most helpful. Good luck!
I totally relate, Xiaoting! Language is indeed the biggest barrier for me too when looking for a place. What I do is check online communities for Indonesian foreigners in Korea—many have shared their experiences and can recommend English-friendly places. When consulting, I always ask first if there are any staff who speak English or if there's an interpreter, and don't be shy about asking for clarification if you don't understand. I hope you find the right place!
Hey everyone! I'm wondering, when you choose a clinic, do you ask about their services beforehand? For example, do they have English-language contact options? And do you try chatting with them beforehand to see how convenient that is?
Hi Xiaoting! I'm also from Taiwan, so I totally understand your concerns. My advice is to first use Google Maps and local expatriate communities to find a few clinics, then directly ask them via WhatsApp or Kakao if they have consultants who speak Chinese or English—most clinics in Hongdae and Gangnam have international customer service, so asking will filter out half of the unreliable ones. For my first consultation, I bring a translation app and write down my questions in English to show the doctor. This is more reassuring, and the doctor can better understand what you really want. Good luck!
