Hi everyone, I'm Mengru from Taiwan. I've been wanting to try out some cosmetic procedures in Seoul recently, but my Korean is absolutely terrible. I can't understand clinic reviews at all 😅 I wanted to ask you all, how do you tell if those Korean reviews are genuine or just advertisements? Are there any red flags I should be particularly aware of?
I've looked at some clinics' Chinese introductions, but they feel incredibly sparse. Most of the time, I have to rely on Google Translate to decipher Korean reviews. But I'm not sure at all if those five-star reviews are from real customers or if the clinic posted them themselves. Has anyone had a similar experience? Or how do you all verify if a clinic is trustworthy?
Also, besides looking at the number of reviews and star ratings, are there any other ways to filter them? For example, would it be safer to look for clinics that have real post-procedure photos or reviews from international customers? I hope you can share some tips. Thanks!

Monru, I totally get it! I had the same concerns and was struggling to read through using Google Translate 😅. In reality, I ended up visiting multiple clinics for consultations and made my decision based on how well the staff responded and explained things. Also, looking for posts from actual foreign users on social media, or choosing clinics where you can ask questions in Japanese or English – focusing on "ease of communication" like that might give you peace of mind.
Hi Mong Lu, have you tried asking the hospital directly if they have staff who speak Chinese or English, or have you contacted them via email to inquire about their experience with foreign patients? I think if they are willing to explain in detail in a language you understand, that's a pretty good sign.
