Hi everyone, I'm Fangfang, from China. I'm currently considering getting a minor cosmetic procedure in South Korea, but my Korean is terrible, and I can't understand any Korean reviews or comments. I've seen many recommendations for Korean clinics on Chinese forums, but I have no idea how to tell if this information is genuine or just marketing hype. Could anyone tell me how a foreigner who doesn't speak the language can distinguish between reliable and unreliable reviews?
I'm particularly worried that some reviews seem too perfect, which might make me doubt their authenticity. Also, I don't know what warning signs to avoid. For example, if a clinic's reviews are all from the last month or two, or are all five-star ratings, does that mean there's a problem? I'm feeling a bit lost and don't know where to begin.
If anyone has had cosmetic procedures done in South Korea, could you share how you chose a clinic? How did you ensure you weren't scammed? I'd especially like to hear everyone's opinions on reviews and recommendations. Thank you!

I'm wondering the same thing, Pang! It's really hard if you don't understand the local language and have to differentiate between genuine reviews and those that are just marketing. I agree with you that overly perfect reviews make you suspicious—I think it's better to look for a balanced one, with a little criticism too, to make it feel more real.
Pangpang, you're absolutely right. I had the same worries at first, too.😅 Did you happen to get direct introductions from Chinese friends or WeChat groups before going to Korea? Asking friends who had actually been there was the most helpful for me.
