Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting a small aesthetic procedure done before I go abroad, but I'm a bit worried about post-op swelling. I'm planning to travel about a week after the procedure, so I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with this?
Mainly, I'd like to know how long it typically takes for post-op swelling to subside and look more natural. Also, what kind of skincare products should I pack in my luggage that would be helpful? I've heard some people bring cold compresses, but I'm not sure if they're allowed in carry-on luggage during flights.
Additionally, I'm wondering what I should pay attention to if I need to continue post-op care while abroad. I'm a little concerned about not knowing how to take care of myself in an unfamiliar place. Has anyone been through something similar and can share some advice? Thanks, everyone!

I completely understand your concerns! I was the same way before. I wanted to get a small treatment done before going abroad but worried about swelling. My advice is to definitely communicate the timing with your doctor before you leave, and ask them roughly when the swelling should subside so you have a clear idea. You can bring solid cold compress products; liquids have restrictions on planes, but it's also convenient to buy them once you arrive locally. You've got this!
I had the same thought too! Did you end up postponing the trip for an extra week, or did you decide to go and just accept it? 🤔
