Hey everyone! So I've been thinking about getting double eyelid surgery for a while now, and I keep coming back to the idea of doing it in Seoul instead of locally. I'm from the US, so it would mean taking time off work, flights, accommodation—the whole thing. Part of me feels like it might be worth it because I've heard Korea has really advanced techniques and tons of experience with this procedure, but I'm also wondering if I'm just romanticizing it because it's trending.
My main hesitation is the practical stuff. Like, if something goes wrong or I need follow-ups, dealing with that across time zones and distance seems stressful. Plus, I'd need to factor in recovery time and potentially a second trip. Has anyone actually done this as an international patient? I'm trying to understand if the cost difference and travel logistics even balance out, or if I'm better off finding someone qualified closer to home.
I'm also curious about how people actually choose a clinic when you're doing this remotely. Do you guys rely on Instagram, consultations over video, reviews? I feel like there's so much information out there but it's hard to know what's trustworthy when you can't visit in person first. Would love to hear from anyone who's been through this decision!
