Hi everyone! I'm Mei, and I just had a minor cosmetic procedure done. My face is a bit swollen and bruised right now. Although the doctor gave me some basic aftercare advice, I'd love to hear your practical tips for the recovery period. For example, how long is it best to use cold compresses? When can I start using warm compresses? Has anyone found any particularly effective methods to speed up swelling reduction?
Right now, my main goal is to avoid anything that might worsen the swelling, but I also don't want to just lie around doing nothing all day. Are there any sisters out there who can share their daily care experiences during recovery? For instance, how do you wash your face, and what skincare products are gentle enough to use? I've heard diet can also have an impact, but I'm not sure what specific things to pay attention to.
Also, I wanted to ask, how long does it typically take for swelling and bruising of this degree to gradually subside? I'm a little worried it might affect the final results. What has everyone's experience been like? If you have any suggestions (within the realm of daily care, of course, not medical advice!), I'd love to hear them! Thanks, everyone! ~

I went through the same thing! Actually, sleeping slightly elevated (using 2-3 pillows) really helps with swelling. At first, I thought about sleeping flat, but this way is better. My face didn't swell up more 😊
I understand your concern, but from my experience, the most important thing is to be patient with your body. I usually just avoid what the doctor tells me to avoid (like alcohol, spicy foods), and then let it heal on its own over time — no need to worry too much because the body has a natural ability to recover!
