Hi everyone! I'm Shuting from Taiwan. I'm currently considering some cosmetic procedures in Korea, but honestly, my Korean isn't very good, and I have no idea what to believe in the reviews. Many clinics' Chinese or English descriptions look very professional, but I can't verify the authenticity of the Korean reviews myself.
I'd like to ask if anyone has any methods to help me judge the authenticity of reviews? For example, have you seen any obvious warning signs, or are there any reviews that just seem a bit off? I know there are exaggerated reviews everywhere, but it seems particularly difficult to discern them in Korea. Has anyone used any tools or methods to verify the authenticity of reviews?
Also, besides reviews, what else do you look for when choosing a clinic? Are there any other warning signs I should be wary of? Thank you all, I really need some advice!

I understand how you feel! I'm in the same position, and since I can't read all the reviews in Korean, it's really hard to judge which ones are true. I check if there are similar comments on multiple platforms, and I look to see if there are photos and if the content is specific. I also feel that asking local friends or going for a consultation in person to get a feel for the atmosphere is the most reliable way to go.
I'm interested! Have you tried contacting Thai people who have been there before? They often can help because they explain things in a simpler way, unlike reviews that are often overly written. 😊
Shooting, have you ever looked into Facebook or Discord groups for foreigners in Korea? I find that those communities usually have more authentic feedback because people speak English or Chinese.
I really appreciate you asking that! I was also a bit surprised by how Koreans differentiate between reviews. You mentioned you're learning quite a bit in Thai and Chinese — have you tried asking your Korean friends how they read reviews, or where they trust reviews?
Hey! I totally get the language barrier thing — I've been there. One thing I noticed is that reviews with lots of specific details about their actual experience (like describing how they felt during/after, timeline stuff) tend to feel more real than ones that just say 'perfect!!!!' over and over. Also, I always try to find people on social media or YouTube who document their journey step-by-step, since it's harder to fake that consistency. Good luck with your search!
Oh dear! I wonder if you've tried finding someone who speaks Thai, or our native language, who is currently receiving treatment in Korea? Having someone who speaks the same language and has experience with it would likely be more reliable, wouldn't it?
