Hi everyone! I'm Zahra from Indonesia. So I'm planning to try a minor procedure in Korea in a few weeks, but I'm a bit worried about aftercare while traveling. I'll be flying home a day or two after the procedure, and I'm wondering how to manage swelling during the trip. Has anyone experienced something similar?
I'd like to ask a few things: What aftercare products are worth bringing in your checked baggage? I've heard about sheet masks, cooling gels, and other products for reducing swelling, but I'm not sure which brands are good or frequently recommended. Are there any portable and practical ones for airplane travel?
So, what's the best way to keep swelling to a minimum during travel? I've read that you should avoid salty foods, drink plenty of water, and maintain an elevated head position. But are there any other tips I might have missed? I'm also wondering if I need to buy something specifically in Korea or if there's something I can prepare here before leaving?
If anyone has traveled after a procedure, could you share your experiences? I'm especially interested in learning practical tips for comfort and swelling management. Thanks so much, girls!

Zahara-san, thank you for your hard work! I've had a similar experience, and swelling on airplanes is really tough, isn't it? Personally, I found it easier to wet a cold towel in a compression bag and use that on the plane, rather than bringing a cold sheet mask for my neck and face. Also, compression socks seemed to work well for overall swelling 😊
Hey Zahra! That's a tight timeline for recovery travel – totally understand the stress. Quick question: when you say you're heading back after just a day or two, are you planning to take the afternoon flight right after the procedure, or will you have at least one full night to rest in Korea first? I feel like that timing could make a big difference in managing swelling on the plane!
Hey Zahra! I totally get the worry—I did something similar last year and flew back the next day lol. Honestly, keeping your head elevated on the plane made such a difference for me, and I packed a small cooling gel pad in my carry-on (the solid kind, not liquid) which TSA was fine with. Also maybe ask your place for specific aftercare recs before you leave, since everyone heals a bit differently!
