Lately, I've been contemplating whether to get a minor procedure done in Korea, but I'm also a bit hesitant. There are actually quite a few skilled doctors in China who do a great job, and travel has become more convenient post-pandemic, so the costs might be a bit lower too. However, I've heard from friends that many clinics in Korea are genuinely very professional and experienced in this area, plus I could relax and recover there.
The main things holding me back are that coming to Korea would mean taking time off work and booking accommodation, which adds up to a significant cost. Plus, I wouldn't be able to return home immediately. But if I were to do it in China, I worry about the convenience of follow-up care, as clinics there might not be accustomed to consulting with remote patients.
Are there any sisters out there who have gone back and forth between these two options? How did you ultimately decide? Besides price, what other important factors do you think I should consider? For instance, the doctor's experience, support during recovery – are these also crucial? I'd really love to hear everyone's thoughts!

I totally get that conflicted feeling! I also went back and forth between staying in China and coming to Korea, and ultimately decided on Korea mainly because I was worried about the follow-up care being more complicated back home, plus doctors here in Korea are really experienced with these types of procedures. But you're right, the cost is definitely a significant expense. I'd suggest consulting a few more places to get a clearer understanding of the process and post-operative care arrangements, which might give you more confidence.
