I've been considering flying to Seoul for double eyelid surgery lately. I'm Taiwanese, and I've read a lot of Korean cosmetic surgery reviews; Seoul seems to have a very mature aesthetic sense and advanced techniques. But honestly, I'm a little hesitant about flying that far for surgery. I'd like to ask you all, if you were traveling from overseas, how would you assess whether it's worth it?
My main dilemma is: on the one hand, there are good doctors in Taiwan, but on the other hand, I've heard that Korea offers a wide variety of double eyelid surgery options, with varying degrees of customization. However, the round-trip airfare, accommodation, and surgery costs add up to a significant expense, and the language barrier during the recovery period could be a major problem.
Has anyone flown from Taiwan or other overseas locations for this procedure? How did you decide? Did you hire a translator? Also, how many days after the surgery should I stay there for peace of mind? I'm still really undecided and would love to hear more about your experiences!

I also flew from Vietnam to Korea for this procedure, and honestly, the communication was the hardest part, not the surgery itself! I recommend staying in Seoul for about 1-2 weeks to feel more at ease, rather than rushing back home — your face will be swollen for quite a while, and you'll want someone to help you if anything goes wrong. Finding a Vietnamese partner or friend there would be great, but if not, prepare Google Translate and contact the clinic beforehand! 😊
It seems like you, who came from Taiwan, have the same feelings as me! I am from Mongolia, but this seems like an interesting option, but it is quite expensive and the mental burden of meeting people face to face. I also hear good reviews from abroad, but I feel a little scared to be alone in the recovery phase after leaving my country.
