Hello, this is Riko. I'm thinking about getting cosmetic procedures in Korea, but honestly, my Korean isn't great... When I look at Japanese review sites or English sites, there's a lot written about each clinic, but I have no idea what's true or what I can trust.
What I'm particularly concerned about is whether clinics with overwhelmingly positive reviews aren't a bit suspicious. Also, what kind of red flags should I watch out for... How does everyone else make their decisions? Are there things foreigners should be especially careful about?
If anyone has experience with "reviews that might be questionable" or "responses that are a big red flag," I'd be really happy if you could share. Is it best to just contact them directly to confirm...?

I completely understand how you feel! It can be a bit nerve-wracking to get beauty treatments in Korea as a foreigner, especially with the language barrier. My experience is that overly perfect reviews are indeed something to be wary of, while genuine reviews usually have both pros and cons. I suggest emailing the clinic directly or using a translation app to ask some specific questions and see how quickly and professionally they respond – sometimes, you can gauge whether a clinic is reliable just from the communication process itself.
I'm considering the same thing and totally understand your concerns! I think directly contacting them to ask about their process and experience, and hearing how they answer questions, would be more reassuring than just reading reviews.
