Hi everyone, I'm Yun. I've been thinking about getting a cosmetic procedure done recently, but I'm stuck on a decision — should I go to a medical aesthetics clinic here in Beijing, or should I save up and do it in Korea?
Doing it domestically would be more convenient — no need to take time off work, all my friends are here, and the level of service in China is really good these days. But I keep hearing from friends that Korea's aesthetic philosophy and experience are just different, plus the idea of actually traveling to Korea is really appealing to me. However, when I think about plane tickets, accommodation, the time needed for recovery, and the language barrier, I'm not so sure anymore.
I'm not saying one place is definitely better than the other — I just want to hear how everyone else makes this kind of decision. Has anyone considered both options and ended up choosing one? How did you weigh the pros and cons? Looking back now, do you regret your choice? I'd really love to know about your actual experiences — not just about the results, but also about the whole process and how you felt about it mentally.
Thanks everyone, I'm looking forward to hearing your stories!

I've been to Seoul in the past year and also had it done at home. For me, since my recovery time was quite long, I thought getting it done at home turned out better — it was nice to meet up with friends, and I didn't have to take time off work. But the atmosphere in Seoul and the professionalism of the staff there really seemed to be on another level, you know 😅
I completely understand your hesitation! I went back and forth between staying in my hometown and coming to Korea for ages before I finally decided to give it a try. Honestly, both have their pros and cons, but for me, experiencing the whole process firsthand in Korea and seeing different beauty philosophies—that's something you just can't get from home, even though it definitely takes time and money 😅 If you can, maybe you could ask friends around you who've done it how they made their decision. That might be more helpful!
