Hi everyone, I'm Hui. I'm considering getting some cosmetic procedures done in Korea, but as a foreigner, I'm feeling a bit lost. There's so much information online, I don't know which parts are reliable. I'd like to ask you experienced people, how did you find trustworthy clinics?
I'm particularly interested in whether having a translator is important. Can the doctor communicate directly in English, or is it necessary to have a translator accompany me? What should I look for during the consultation to determine if the clinic is reliable? I've heard that some clinics treat foreign patients and local patients differently; is that true?
Also, what questions should I ask during the first consultation? I want to understand the treatment process and potential risks, but I don't want to be too suspicious. I'd appreciate any advice from you all; I feel more comfortable asking in this community. Thank you!

Hui, I understand! I'm struggling with the same thing. It's really difficult to decide about interpreters and which hospitals are trustworthy, isn't it? I'm currently researching various options, so I'd love to hear about everyone's experiences. Let's do our best together!
I was also nervous about the language barrier at first, but during the consultation, I asked them straight away to ask if they had an interpreter—most serious places do provide English or an interpreter, so don't hesitate to clarify that up front! In my experience, the most important thing is to see how they explain things and whether they patiently answer your questions, rather than being suspicious if you ask for details—good doctors actually appreciate that.
Hi! Before going to the hospital, have you tried asking friends who have traveled, studied, or worked in Korea? I think experiences from people who actually know the place are more reliable than random websites. 😊
