How long does the philtrum reduction scar last?

I am stressed because my philtrum is long, making my mid-face look too long. I am looking into philtrum reduction surgery, but my biggest concern is the scar. I am confused because some reviews say the scar is barely visible, while others say it is more noticeable than expected. I can't bring myself to make a decision right away because I'm worried the scar will be visible, especially when I smile or look up close.
