Hi everyone! I'm Tiara, from Jakarta. I've wanted double eyelid surgery for a really long time, but I've always been hesitant. Lately, I've been seeing a lot of friends go to Seoul specifically for aesthetic procedures, and now I'm seriously considering going there instead of doing it locally. What's confusing me is... is it really worth it? I have to factor in flights, accommodation, recovery time away from home, plus all the treatment costs. Maybe someone here has experience with this?
My questions are: is there really a significant difference in quality between here and Seoul? Or am I just influenced by the trend? Plus, I'm nervous about aftercare if I return to Indonesia and there are complications. How did you decide whether to go or not? Does anyone have tips on how to research and communicate with clinics there if English is the only language? I'm not too sure yet, so maybe you could share your experiences or perspectives? Thanks!

Hi Tiara! I had the same dilemma before, but I eventually decided to go to Seoul. My advice is to consider it if your budget allows, but be sure to do your homework beforehand – using Google Translate or finding a local Chinese-speaking consultant will be very helpful for smoother communication. As for post-operative care, I brought the detailed instructions from the doctor back home, and if any issues arise, you can directly send photos to the doctor. Many clinics actually offer online follow-ups. However, the most important thing is to be clear with yourself whether you truly want to do it, or if it's just because everyone around you is doing it 😊
I totally relate to your concerns, Tiara! I've had the same thoughts—is the cost of flights and hotels worth it, especially if something goes wrong and you have to handle it remotely? But from what I've seen, many friends are satisfied and say the difference can be noticeable, although I'm not entirely sure if it's due to the quality of the technique or perhaps their different expectations. The most worrying part is the aftercare—that's what's holding me back from making a decision too, hehe.
I completely understand your concern, Tiara! I'm also considering this and honestly don't know if the cost of flights, hotel, and recovery time is worth it. I have a Vietnamese friend who had a procedure in Seoul and returned, and she said the quality is different, but I'm still not sure if it's worth all the extra expenses. The aftercare once I'm back home is also a worry for me.
