A method that involves incising the eyelid to trim fat and skin, creating a permanent line. Suitable for thick eyes.
The incisional method is a surgical procedure in which the skin is incised along the double eyelid line, sagging skin, excess fat, and muscle are trimmed, and the line is fixed. There is almost no risk of the line coming undone, and clear results can be obtained even in cases where the eyelids are thick or sagging.
It is suitable for cases of thick or fatty eyelids, skin sagging, or repeated loosening of the buried suture method. It is recommended for those who desire a clear and permanent line.
The designed line is incised to trim excess orbital fat and sagging skin and muscle, and then the skin and levator muscle are connected to create the line. If ptosis is present, eye shape correction is performed simultaneously.
Sutures are removed after 5 to 7 days, and initial swelling subsides over 2 to 4 weeks. It may take 2 to 3 months for the natural final result to appear. The incision line fades over time.
The recovery period is longer than the buried suture method, and scar management is required. The height of the line must be determined carefully; if it is excessively high, it may look unnatural or cause discomfort when closing the eyes.
The incision line is hidden within the double eyelid line and fades to become almost invisible over time.
The line itself is permanent. However, if the skin sags due to aging, additional correction may be necessary after a few years.
